Dear, by Rachel V.

Dear
By Rachel V.
I love to watch your face at night,
To know that you will face the light,
With me by your side dear.
I love to hear your voice while I,
Count the stars, and silently sigh,
But tell myself that all will be well,
As long as you keep talking dear.
I love to hear about your day,
To hear about whom you praise,
And all about your plans, my dear.
As long as you are with me, dear,
As long as you are near me, dear,
As long as you will be my treasure, dear,
All will be well.

Hand In Hand We Will Get Through by Michelle R.

Hand In Hand We Will Get Through

Sometimes when you are feeling down
You feel like no one to help you is around
Just know that we all understand
And as the body of Christ,
We will get through it, hand in hand
And God knows too
And He will help you get through
For you are loved
By the one above
So we will help each other
To keep our hands lifted high
And hold each other up
When they need help getting by
So come on
Join me now
For our lives have just begun
And we are strong
Built in the Father Spirit and Son

Lantern of Hope by Michelle R.

It is so wonderful
And so beautiful
When the body of Christ
Comes together
Works together
And helps each other
It makes my heart so full
And makes the world
Not seem so dark and dull
For we are adding light
As we help each other in the night
Like a lantern of hope
Lit with the power of love
And guarded by the shield of strength
Carried by God for such a great length
Like a candle of peace
Glowing with beauty
Burning sincerely
Not being blown out
For its flames are dancing so fiercely
God has given the body of Christ the tools we need to light these
Now
All we have to do
Is light the lantern
Burn the candle
And share the light

God is There

God is There

By Erin B.
The day the wind blew
It was cold and rainy
And scary and you are unsure
And you ask for help
But, God can help

The day you Saved Me

The day you Saved Me

By Erin B.
The day you saved me
I was lost and you found me
When it was dark you are my light
When it was raining you were there
Always...

Poetry Explication: The Joins by Chana Bloch

Poetry Explication: The Joins by Chana Bloch

First read this Poem.

For those of you who didn’t click on the link, now I’m going to have to insist that you CLICK THE LINK!! Seriously!

Now for added measure I’m going to put the poem here for you to read, just in case you didn’t already….

The Joins

Kintsugi is the Japanese art of mending precious pottery with gold.
What’s between us
often seems flexible as the webbing
between forefinger and thumb.

Seems flexible, but it’s not;
what’s between us
is made of clay,

like any cup on the shelf.
It shatters easily. Repair
becomes the task.

We glue the wounded edges
with tentative fingers.
Scar tissue is visible history,

the cup more precious to us
because
we saved it.

In the art of kintsugi,
a potter repairing a broken cup
would sprinkle the resin

with powdered gold.
Sometimes the joins
are so exquisite

they say the potter
may have broken the cup
just so he could mend it.

CHANA BLOCH

Now here’s what I have to say about this poem. It’s magnificent. I really love especially the last stanza.
As I was reading this I had a kind of ephiphany. God can do this in our lives. Sometimes He breaks apart what we consider to be a really good thing so that He can work on it or so that we can work on it. But later He may bring it back together into something much more beautiful than we could have ever imagined.
As stated in Ecclesiastes, there is a time for everything.
1 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2 a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace

(You can preview the rest of the passage here.)
Even a time for mending what has been broken. Who knows, maybe it will end up better than you ever thought.

My cry of hope

This is my cry of hope
My faith eternal
It give me hope for better days
Days of happiness
